| Objective: To investigate the effects of phytoestrogen thorn formononetin on expression of estrogen receptorsα,βin cerebral cortex of ovariectomized rats. Methods: 50 SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, namely sham opERαtion group (without ovariectomy, fed with normal saline 1ml/100mg), model group (ovariectomized, fed with normal saline 1ml/100mg), Nilestriol group (ovariectomized, fed with Nilestriol 0.23mg/ml), low dose of formononetin group (ovariectomized, fed with thorn formononetin 2mg/ml), high dose of thorn formononetin group (ovariectomized, fed with thorn formononetin 10mg/ml) . They were killed after being fed for 8 weeks .Western blot and real time PCR were used to detect the expression of estrogen receptorα,βin cerebral cortex of SD rats .Results: For the ERα: expression level of nilestriol group is the highest (P <0.05), sham opERαtion group ranked 2 (P <0.05), high dose of thorn formononetin group ranked 3 (P <0.05), low dose of thorn formononetin group ranked 4 (P <0.05), model group, the expression level is at least (P <0.05). For ERβ: expression level of nilestriol group is the highest (P <0.05), sham opERαtion group ranked 2 (P <0.05), high dose of thorn formononetin group ranked 3 (P <0.05), low dose of thorn formononetin group and model group take the least expression level(P <0.05), but no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). |
