Objective:The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of butorphanol and fentanyl on the patients's BIS, the hemodynamic chan-ge, the effect-site concentrations of propofol and BIS values at loss of consciousness and the time when patients lost the consciousness and loss of verbal contact under the propofol target-controlled infusion (TCI) anesthesia. Methods:Selected 45 patients ASAâ… -â…¡under surgery were div-ided into three groups, and the age, weight and health status had no si-gnificant differences. The first group was control group, the second group was butorphanol group and the third group was fentanyl group, each group had 15 patients. After the patients enter the operating room, we record the vital signs, such as heart rate, mean arterial pressure and BIS then them was given the TCI propofol. The initial proppp of Propofol effect com-partment concentration was 0.5mg\L, then every 5 minutes increase 0.5mg\L [6] until the modified OAA/S value reaches 0. BIS.When OAA/S value reached 5,4,3,2,1,0 successive level, record the heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), BIS, and the effect site concen-tration of propofol (EC) and plasma concentrations (PC).In addition, we should record the LCV and LOC time,â…¢ Result:When the OAA/S score decreased from 5 to 0, BIS, HR and MAP values decreased accordingly, PC and EC values increased. However when OAA/S reach the same rage the different groups varies, and among different groups P<0.05, statistically significant. In addition A,B and C groups reach the LOC and LVC statues was also different, and the time of C group use was the shortest. Conclusion:Butorphanol and fentanyl can enhance the sedative and hypnotic effects of propofol, and the synergistic effect of fentanyl was stronger, and can significantly reduce the amount of propofol.
