The Study Of Relationship Between The Volum, Surface Area, Peritumoral Edema Of Glioma And Their Pathological Grades With MRI Stereological Methods

Objective:To study the relationship between the volum, surface area, peritumoral edema of glioma and their pathological grades.Method:93 cases of glioma patients had been collected in our hospital from November 2008 to february 2010.All of them have been demonstrated by surgical operation and pathological grade.The pathological grade according to the standard of WHO 2000.There are 21 cases in the Gradeâ… ,28 cases in Gradeâ…¡,18 cases in Gradeâ…¢and 26cases in Gradeâ…£.MRI scan on was performed preoperation in everyone. Using computer software to measure the volum and surface area of tumor and the volum of glioma, compare the differences of glioma among all levels.Result:1.There is no significant difference between the volume of glioma and the surface area of tumor in all levels (p>0.05);There are significant differences in volume of glioma tumor, the volume of edema, the index of tumor edema and surface area of glioma in all levels,(p< 0.05),The Gradeâ… is quite different from the others; The edema rates of glioma forâ… -â…£Grades are as follows:47.6%,85.7%,88.9%,96.2% and the average is 80.7%.Conclusion:1.There is no significant difference between the volume and the surface area of glioma in all levels;2.There are significant differences in volume of glioma tumor, the volume of edema, the edema index and surface area of glioma in all levels,The Gradeâ… is quite different from the others;3.Marked edma were estimated above Gradeâ…¡,and the higher level,extent of tumor edema compared with tumor volume more relevant to their pathological level.
