Objective:Through detecting the serum IL-17 level of pediatric patients with acute infectious diarrhea, persistent infectious diarrhea, (repeated) chronic infectious diarrhea and ulcerative colitis, to study the immune pathogenic mechanism of IL-17 in infectious diarrheal disease and ulcerative colitis, the difference between the two and the related clinical significance. Methods:Collected with serum of children in 20 cases of acute infectious diarrhea,20 cases of persistent infectious diarrhea,20 cases of (repeated) chronic infectious diarrhea,10 cases of ulcerative colitis and 20 healthy individuals, detecting the serum IL-17 level with flow cytometry.Results:1.The serum IL-17 level of the control group is 8.47±3.45 pg/ml, with infectious diarrhea group (overall) of 17.26±6.27 pg/ml, the ulcerative colitis of 33.38±8.01 pg/ml,acute infectious diarrhea of 13.66±4.04 pg/ml, persistent infectious diarrhea of 17.55±6.10 pg/ml, and chronic infectious diarrhea of 20.42±6.97 pg/ml. 2. There is statistical difference between infectious diarrhea group (overall) and the control group(P<0.01),as well as persistent infectious diarrhea group and the control group(P<0.01), chronic infectious diarrhea group and the control group(P<0.01), chronic infectious diarrhea group and acute infectious diarrhea group(P<0.01).But there is not difference between acute infectious diarrhea group and the control group, as well as persistent infectious diarrhea group and acute infectious diarrhea group, chronic infectious diarrhea group and persistent infectious diarrhea group(P>0.05). 3. There is statistical difference between ulcerative colitis group and the control group (P<0.01). 4. There is statistical difference between ulcerative colitis group and infectious diarrhea group (overall) (P<0.01),as well as ulcerative colitis group and chronic infectious diarrhea group(P<0.01).Conclution:1. IL-17 involved in the pathogenic mechanism of infectious diarrhea disease in pediatric patients, and is associated with the course of disease and the degree of inflammation. It has reference value on clinical judgment of the infectious diarrhea disease.2. IL-17 involved in the pathogenic mechanism of ulcerative colitis in pediatric patients, and is associated with the degree of inflammation. It has reference value on clinical judgment of the ulcerative colitis.3. In pediatric, compared with the infectious diarrhea, the immune function of ulcerative colitis is in a more disordered. The serum IL-17 level was significantly higher than that of infectious diarrhea group (overall) even chronic infectious diarrhea group, it may be regarded as a reference indicator identifying the two in clinical.
