| Purpose:Observation of castrated male rabbits tear secretion, tear film stability and corneal changes in morphological changes, as well as the effect of acupuncture treatment.Methods:New Zealand white rabbits with 18 in the production of 12 dry eye animal model, and the other 6 as the normal group. Castration castration, respectively, before and after the weekly inspection of each group Schirmer test, tear film break-up time and rose bengal staining. Castration 4 weeks immediately after the 12 rabbits were divided into two groups, dry eye group 6, treatment group 6, treatment group, acupuncture line of treatment, once a day, every 30 minutes. After 4 weeks, three groups of rabbits were killed, whichever is pathological corneal tissues were observed.Results:Castrated male rabbits 3 weeks from Schirmer test, tear film break-up time significantly less than before the experiment, and with the extension of observation time, there was significant difference (P<0.05), rose bengal staining test positive for pre-test was negative.4 weeks after treatment, the increase in tear secretion, tear film break-up time extended dry eye compared with the difference statistically significant (P<0.05). Pathological examination, dry eye rabbit corneal epithelium cell proliferation arranged in disorder, basal cell hyperplasia thickening, nuclear staining deep, inner cortex cells flat, partial shedding. Treatment group, mild rabbit corneal epithelium cell proliferation arranged in neat rows, mild basal cell hyperplasia, flat within the cortical cells arranged in neat rows.Conclusion:1.Castrated male rabbits reduced tear secretion, decreased tear film stability, corneal surface staining, can be diagnosed as dry eye. That a lower level of male hormones led to an important reason for dry eye occurs.2.Acupuncture treatment can increase tear secretion, tear film break-up time extended to reduce the level of male hormones due to dry eye has a certain effect.
