Clinical Study Of Deep Acupuncture At Tianshu(ST25) For Treatment Of Chronic Functional Constipation

Objective:To evaluate the first-term,short-term and middle-term therapeutic effects and the safety of deep acupuncture at Tianshu(ST 25)for treatment of chronic functional constipation(CFC). Approach the correlated mechanisms and evalute the clinical efficacy of acupuncture.Methods:75 cases of CFC were randomly divided into three groups:treatment group(deep acupuncture at Tianshu(ST 25), the control group I (simple drug group), the control group II (shallow acupuncture at Tianshu(ST 25). the first time of defecating, Cleveland Constipation Score(CCS),colic transit time(CTT) and various safety indexes were assessed.observation and treatment for four weeks. The following-up was carried out 1 and 3 months after the end of treatment.Results:For the first-term therapeutic effect, for the first time of defaecation,we find comparing integral that there were significant differences (P<0.05)between the treatment group and control group II, control I group and control II group.and that there were no significant difference (P> 0.05) between the treatment group and control groupⅠ.For the short-term therapeutic effect,the treatment group was better than the control groupⅡ(P<0.01) in clinical score.and there were no significant difference (P> 0.05) between the treatment group and control group I in clinical score. for the middle-term therapeutic effect, the treatment group obviously decrease using rate of cathartics after 1 month of treatment and 3 months of treatment,the treatment group superior to the medical group(P<0.01).for the colic transit time(CTT):Before treatment, the scores of CTT assessed no significant difference (P> 0.05). After their treatment, the scores of CTT is obviouslly less than pre-treatment (P＜0.001).and there is no significant difference among three groups. (P> 0.05).The therapeutic effect of CTT is almost nearly(P> 0.05).Conclusions:Three treatments are efficiency.Deep acupuncture at Tianshu(ST 25) has a definite short-term therapeutic effect,and some middle-term therapeutic effect on CFC and the effction of decreasing using rate of cathartics,with no adverse reaction.
