The Comparison Between Vaginal And Abdominal Myomectomy

Objective:To disscuss the feasibility,safety and clinical effect of vaginal myomectomy.Method:From February 2008 to January 2009,we choose 30 cases treated by vaginal myomectomy,and as the same time 30cases treated by abdominal myomectomy in our hospital were selected as the abdominal group.To compare the effects of operation and recovery of two groups.Results:There were no significant differences in the mean operating time.blood bloss during operation between the vaginal group ,(70±19)minutes ,(205±105)ml and the abdominal group,(72±21)minutes,(190±116)m1.In the vaginal group,the mean recovery time of bowel function(15.5±3.5)hours and average post operative hospital stay (4.5±0.5)days were shorter than in the abdominal group(29.5±5.0)hours,(7.6±0.4) days.Symptoms were corrected after 5.8 months follow-up for two groups,patients in the vaginal group recovered more rapidly and felt more satisfactory with the effect of operation than patients in the abdominal group.But at the same time the indications of the vaginal group are relatively limitations because of its narrow surgical field and supernal surgical skill.Conclusion:The two methods have their advantage and disadvantage themselves,they can not be replaced. Vaginal myomectomy with little invation and quick recovery and no abdominal scar compared with abdominal myomectomy can be performed in selected patients if we control the operation indications strictly and possess vaginal operation experience.
