Batroxobin In The Safty And Effectiveness Of Treatment Of Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss: A Systematic Review

Objective: To systematic review the safety and effectiveness of treatment of sudden sensorineural hearing loss by batroxobin. Methods: We searched MEDLINE (1980 to Sep 2009), EMBASE (1980 to Sep 2009), CBM-disk (1980to Sep 2009), CNKI (1980 to Sep 2009),the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials-Central (with contains the Cochrane ear,nose and throat Group Trials Register)in the Cochrane Library,we searched related journals,Methodological quality of reviews used simple evaluate method the Cochrane Collaboration recommended,which was grade A,B,C.Data extracted by two reviewers with designed extraction form.RevMan 4.2 software used for data management and analysis.Obtained evidence the safety and effectiveness of treatment of sudden sensorineural hearing loss by batroxobin.Result:three RCTs involving 242 participants required batroxobin were included by total retri-eve ridding.The combined result of Meta-analysis shows that there were significant difference between the two groups in the rates of cure systemic events[RR=1.79,95%CI(1.16-2.74),P=0.008],ineffectiveness systemic events[RR=0.4,95%CI(0.25-0.64),P=0.0001].Conclusion:To compare batroxobi- n group with conventional group ,there were significant difference in the rates of cure systemic events, ineffectiveness systemic events.However generally low quality of clinical research, and the lack of safety data, combined with the limited sample size, right batroxobin injection therapy.Sudden deafness effectiveness and safety can not draw firm conclusions,to be high-quality,large sample,multi-center,double-blind,randomized control- led trials confirmed.
