Clinical Study Of Nourishing Spleen And Replenishing Kidney Fang Combined With Megestrol Acetate In Treating Cachexia Of Digestive System Malignant Tumor

Objective:Aimed to observe the effect of nourishing spleen and replenishing kidney fang Combined with Megestrol acetate in treating cachexia of digestive system malignant tumor with appetite, weight, middle upper arm circumference and life quality of patients, clear the clinical value of nourishing spleen and replenishing kidney in the treatment of cancer cachexia.Methods:Forty cachexias of digestive system malignant tumor patients were randomly divided into two groups,The treatment group (nourishing spleen and replenishing kidney fang Combined with Megestrol acetate) with 20 cases, the control group (simply with Megestrol Acetate) with 20 cases. Compared two groups in changes in weight, appetite, middle upper arm circumference, the values of serum albumin and pre-albumin, quality of life score, the improvement of symptoms Chinese situation.Results:①Comparison in appetite:After treatment, the appetite of treatment group:excellent 75%, stable 25%, invalid 5%,the control group:excellent 30%, stable 60%, invalid 10%. There is significant difference in both groups after treatment(P<0.05).②Comparison in weight:After treatment, the weight of treatment group:excellent 50%, stable 30%, invalid 20%,the control group:excellent 30%, stable 60%, invalid 10%. There is no significant difference in both groups after treatment(P<0.05).③Comparison in middle upper arm circumference:it is significantly increased in treatment group(P<0.01), but there is no significant difference in the control group(P> 0.05). There is no significant difference in both groups(P> 0.05).④Comparison in Symptoms TCM improvement:After treatment,in the treatment group,6 cases were marked effect,10 cases were effect,4 case had no effect,the total effective rate up 80%;in the control group,1 cases were marked effect,11 cases were effect,8 cases had no effect,the total effective rate only 60%, there is significant difference(P<0.05).(5)Comparison in the change of KPS Score: After treatment,the treatment group and the control group had significant difference in the change of KPS Score(P<0.05).⑥Comparison in the change of FAACT Score:After treatment,the treatment group and the control group had significant difference in the change of KPS Score(P<0.05).⑦Comparison in the change of ALB and pre-ALB:After treatment,the treatment group and the control group had no significant difference (P>0.05).⑧Comparison of Safety:There is significant difference in both groups after treatment(P<0.05)Conclusion:Nourishing spleen and replenishing kidney fang Combined with Megestrol acetate in treating cachexia of digestive system malignant tumor can improve the appetite, weight, middle upper arm circumference,TCM clinical symptoms and life quality of patients,which is worthy to be applied in the treatment of Cancer Cachexia.
