Objective: The aim of this survey is to study the clinical feature, predilection age, predilection site, symptom, physical sign, auxiliary examination and prognosis of the 430 patients in our hospital who were suspected to have foreign bodies in airway tract.Method: We performed a retrospective review of intact hospital records of the 430 patients who were suspected to have foreign body aspiration of The Second Affiliated Hospital of HeBei Medical University from Oct 2006 to Oct 2008, calculate the statistics and analyze its causes.Results: 362 cases were found foreign bodies in airway tract of all the 430 patients and 70 cases were treated with antibiotics as pneumonia or bronchitis in local hospital. So the misdiagnosis rate is 19.3%. All the patients were fully recover except 3 cases that were sent to pediatrics and 4 cases that were sent to chest surgery.Conclusion: Foreign body aspiration can be avoided and treated. We can reduce the complication and mortality by precise diagnosis, careful operation research and attentive postoperative care. |
