Linguists have been showing concern on the structure of"verb-object verb & object"(VO1+O2) and opening broad discussion over it since early 1980s. Discussions mainly focus on whether the structure follows the grammar and how long it will stay.The structure, ever-increasing in the past years, is well worth of thinking and researching. This dissertation is trying to analyze this structure in a multi-perspective way so as to look for the trends of the development of this structure.There're five chapters in this dissertation. At the very beginning, the dissertation reveals what's the research about and why and how it will do a research on it, as well as the corpus and theories used. In the second chapter, the dissertation analyzes the semantic relation within this structure, respectively the relation between V and O1, VO1 and O2,and O1 and O2. It also analyzes the semantic features of VO1, and the condition under which VO1 and O2 can match. In chapter three, the dissertation explores the structure grammatically, both from inside and outside of the structure. In the following chapter, the dissertation researched the factors that influence this structure, namely the disappearance of the meaning of morphemes, the productivity of words, the Principle of Economy, human cognitive ability, Information Focus and instinct for new things. The dissertation then talks about the innovative parts and yet to be improved parts in the final chapter.
