In the Xiantong Period,the Qing Dynasty has nearly been overthrew while the Xiang army became one of the gratest miracles in the history in the late Qing Dynasty, because of crushing the revolution of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom just by a single army's military.For this, the geographic, blood and learning ties of the Xiang army had contributed a lot to the achievements.The essay tried to recourse for the features in the three ties of the people in Xiang by four main elements, which focus on the unique geopolitics,the developments resulted from the clustering and changes, the local custom of respecting the gods and ghosts, the college education with a long history and the experience in the dynasty of Zeng Guofan,explained its exemplification and effect in the society today after the establishment, accounted deeply for the great influence brought by the Xiang army to the military system,political affairs and the whole society of the late Qing Dynasty, devoted to discussing the reasons why Zeng Guofan chose not to take the place of empire with the strong military power he owned,and finally compared the features with the Taiping Heavenly Kindom, the biggest enemy at that time, to deep the research of the features of the geographic, blood and learning ties of the Xiang army.
