With the deepening of China's foreign exchange, many anime were introduced into China from the broad, including cartoons, animations and some derivatives such as games. Japanese anime and American Disney anime are pretty popular, especially Japanese anime. With the deepening of the cultural exchanges between China and Japanese, the permeability of Japanese anime culture reached an unheard-of level. According to its content, Japanese anime can be divided into the science, sports, love, action, detective ones and etc.Japanese anime entered the mainland China formally in the 1980s Japan. Astro boy which is created by Tezuka was the first one in 1981. Since then, Japanese animations have mushroomed in mainland China. In the 1990s, an animation formerly called "Captain Tsubasa" was introduced to China, which is known then as the "Football genius". Since then, sports animations, especially Japanese sports animations were pretty popular in China. It was influential in large-scale. After "Slam Dunk", "Tennis Prince" was also welcomed by audience in China. This study will prove sports animation is a useful way of transmitting sports culture promotion based on film communication and sports theory, sports sociology, animation knowledge and the change of social environment. Firstly we will talk about the definition of animations and sports animations. In the second part of the text I will give a brief introduce Japanese sports animations, including time span and quantity. Then I will choose widely spread as well as far-reaching ones in China, such as: "Captain Tsubasa", "Slam Dunk" and "Tennis Prince" as my research sample. The analysis will be based on the content and form of the three animations. Simple plot of them will be introduced. Then I will analyze the samples from several aspects including music, pictures, movement, rhythm, characters, stories, language, narrative skills, physical sense, and stories of willpower, significance and profound cultural connotation. After that I will summarize the characteristics of several Japanese sports animations. In conclusion, from the aspect of topic selection, Japanese sports animations were inclined to select the kind of sports which were not very popular in Japan since 1980s. And they were generally based on the primary and middle school students'sports.Secondly, the characters tend to be real, language is humorous and distinctive, and stories usually tend to use linear narrative and parallel narrative techniques, and the stories were also in strong consistency. In addition, from the aspects of pictures, characters, actions and rhythm, the Japanese sports animation had made great breakthrough since 1980s, fully embodies the characteristic of hyperbole.Japanese sports animations has been popular in our country not only because they are better produced and broadminded, but also because they are introduced the sense of sports and bear the positive spirit of sports and profound cultural connotation. This point is quite significant for our domestic sports animations, at the same time we should also abandon some negative factors.
