In human psychology, the growth of personality attaches importance to a wide range of personal experience including an awareness of one's own feeling, openness to new experience, and an ability to listen to others'empathically and perceive their feelings. Individuals make sense of the world through constructs which they have developed for themselves over a long period of time. In the light of these sayings, the importance for personal growth of learning experiences in school deserves serious attention. Good teachers may have probably always realized the importance of the process for the product.Experiential learning theory is the core concept of pragmatism of philosophy in learning. Experiential learning emphasizes learning from experience through reflection. In the field of English as foreign language learning and teaching, experiential learning, as a teaching and learning method, enables students to discover language principles from concrete experience through reflection. Meanwhile, mindfulness is a state in which an individual is aware of changes in momentary experiences, flexible with cognitive patterns and purposefully attentive to scan for new information. Mindful experiential learning is a process of being aware of dominant modes of experiential learning and being flexible and purposeful with the way one engages in a learning situation so that it is appropriate to the learning situations.Therefore, this thesis tries to create a learning and teaching model that incorporate the theory of mindful experiential learning to exert a positive impact on the students'English language proficiency. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of applying mindful experiential learning in college English class in the current learning and teaching practice. In this thesis, in order to make this research possess reliability and feasibility, an experimental research is conducted with the author's own teaching practice by applying the mindful experiential learning model to college English class. Based on the analysis and discussion on the data got from the experiment, a conclusion is reached that the application of mindful experiential learning model to the college English teaching in universities is quite effective and helpful.Therefore, the implementation of mindful experiential learning model in college English class can enhance the teaching efficiency and develop students'proficiency in English. Finally, the author will put forward some pedagogical implications for EFLT in universities, including matching teachers'and students'learning styles and practicing college experiential English learning in a mindful way.
