Space is regarded as an empty"container",mainly concentrating on the problems in it , not itself.Under the thinking of space ,Literature——both the ancient imitation and various modernism,are all envisioned as the stage of imitating﹑repressing and expressing history.Thus ,Space is only considered as"scene"where the real dramma of history and the human's feelings and lusts are played.Characters is formed with time rootly in the space or on the spot.The space itself and the inner of it have no interest at all.Contemporary space is just challenging with the traditional space concept that shows no eye on space itself .On the contrary,this wiew emphasises on how space itself expresses ideology﹑view of values﹑faith﹑nationism and relations of countries as text meaning﹑symbolic system﹑signified system,attempt to dig out space thing-in-itself status under the context of history and time,to challenge the history decisive issue and balance the three relationship of history﹑geography and society again,so as to form the concept of spsce—time—existance on the basis of ontology.Under the context of contemporary reality ,Space is never quiet and unchangable container ,it is the ways of Man's existance ,an entirely and openly space full of imagination , where different power and forces compete and resist each other.With the eyes of capital globalization,Space becomes hetero place where countries﹑nation﹑class﹑politics﹑economic﹑culture﹑ ideology and all sorts of power which crush and compete.The aim of contempoary space theory is to seek to criticize capitalism in the process of digging out hetero space.The paper employs contemporary western space theory to study"the other world"which is called Heterotopia or the third space present frequently in the writings of American postmodernist Thomas Pynchon,in order to expiore the implications of colorful space and insight the society entropied in the eyes of Pyhchon.Michel Foucaut argue,space is the base where every public people lives his life,space is the base where every power operates .There are many spaces and constituions metaphoring power.power squeeze people everywhere like shadow,Which makes vulnerable groups who live in the mess society and individuals who pursuit for personal dignity to take measures to stuggle or resist the society ,or make valueless puisuit.Under the control of power and the public space, huminty is constained,there are"the other world"apparent where group'spaces are built for the"desolated boy",and private spaces are constured for the individuals for freedom﹑for quietude. The paper calls these space image ceries as:Eden in the center of cities,Topia in the sceret palace,The waste city under the Commode,Spirit home in the memory and Shangrila in the sky ,those worlds are imagintive,but real.Are there Paradise where modern people are desire to go or illusion where people want to escape from reality?Perhaps, all isn't alike or alike.But,from the dream of Eden﹑the dream of destruction to the dream of escaptation dreams,We can see ,these dreams are the process of Man society entropied continuously.
