Teaching and learning language aims to communication, traditional English teaching has limitation in cultivating learners communicative skills, in this paper, the author provides a further experiment and research on a task-based language teaching(TBLT), which is newly raised abroad. Whether it fits second language teaching in China? How to localize TBLT in high schools, and which doctrine is better in the English Curricular Standard, is it induction or deduction? Which is more important in language learning process? Is that teaching knowledge (grammar) or cultivating the skills of communication? In this thesis, the questions above will be discussed and researched.In the thesis, the author chose two samples from a city and a village, China is a big country, high schools located in different regions which the economic situation, environment and the cultural background are different. There is no doubt that high school education is on different level. First there are sufficient technical supports in cities to implement TBLT, Such as Internet and multimedia. Rich information is available for students in cities. So autonomous learning is comparatively open and easy, while in small village the condition is limited, the achievement of TBLT should be taken in another way. Second, the personality of learners in the two environments is different. The former pays more attention to individuality, they like publicizing themselves, while the latter is a little simple and shy, so teachers should care more about the psychoanalytic factors, personality, cognitive style and learning style of each individual. That is very important to make sure that TBLT can be successfully fulfilled. Third the quality and ability of teachers in cities and villages is different. So the training about TBLT for them is necessary. In a word, TBLT in China high school education should be applied separately.According to questionnaire and detailed analysis, the author gave different teaching strategies and designed many interesting communicative activities and tasks for learners. Training learners of autonomous learning (AL) and communication are the aims of TBLT. So task-based language teaching and autonomous learning are two leading factors combining intensely in English teaching class. Meanwhile the author proposed that multi-media and Internet should be widely applied in TBLT. By using high tech, students could use diverse resources, and enrich their communicative activities. It benefits not only students but also teachers. During two semesters of experiment and research, the author gradually integrates the TBLT into the traditional English teaching method, and promotes the learners'ability of autonomous learning and communication.
