This dissertation mainly studies the review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > which is less focused commented by Tang Xianzu and it discusses the research on the following problems: it traces the studies about < Hua-Jian Anthology > in the Song and Ming Dynasties with the focus of the background in which Tang Xianzu commented the book < Hua-Jian Anthology >; it illustrates the review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > commented by Tang Xianzu; it discovers the influence and the significance from the review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > commented by Tang Xianzu. This dissertation is divided into three parts.In the first part, the literary review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > in the Song and Ming Dynasties will be given and the research about < Hua-Jian Anthology > conducted by the scholars in different periods and the book's roles in the study will be presented. Based on the related literary review, the further study about Tang Xianzu's life and the background of his thought for the book < Hua-Jian Anthology > is illustrated in this part.The second part, the statement about the review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > commented by Tang Xianzu, is the main part of this dissertation. First of all, based on the different research problems in the Ming Dynasty recorded in the reviews on < Hua-Jian Anthology >,this part of the dissertation will analyze the great Ci-poetic value of Tang Xianzu's great attention on the book < Hua-Jian Anthology > from three perspectives:"the origin of Ci and its authority","the characters and the methods for literary creation","the romance in < Hua-Jian Anthology >". It will present Tang Xianzu's viewpoint for the combination of the talent and the learning and his breakthrough and innovation better than the predecessors in following the rules and the choosing words and it will show the true feelings in the book < Hua-Jian Anthology >. Secondly, this dissertation states the positive construction of Tang Xianzu's poetic value in his review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > and in this part the writer mainly develops the discussion from three aspects:"the delicacy of the poetic imagery","the great value of the emotions","the difference of the writing style"in order to discover Tang Xianzu's poetic value and his unique style in commenting the Ci-poetry.In the third part, this dissertation discusses the great influence and its significance of the review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > commented by Tang Xianzu. (一) the influential aspect: in Tang Xianzu's period, there was the trend to express the"sentiment"and it was no exception to Tang Xianzu. The previous researchers paid more attention to the expression of"sentiment"in his creation of Chinese operas but this dissertation lays more emphasis on the recognition to the"sentiment"in his review on < Hua-Jian Anthology >, the imitation of the writing mode in < Hua-Jian Anthology > from the perspective of"sentiment"and the inevitable influence on his poetic creation from the view of"sentiment".To the scholars in the Qing dynasty, Tang Xianzu's writing style in Ci-poetry started a new way for the poems in the Qing dynasty to study the Ci-poetry and develop the theory for the Ci-poetry. This is very significant for many poets in Changzhou Sect to study the Ci-poetry. (二) the significance aspect: this part of the dissertation mainly discusses the poetic significance from the review on < Hua-Jian Anthology > commented by Tang Xianzu with the trend from the theories of free school of Ci writing, the subtle and concise school to the vulgar and romantic style of Ci writing in , and so on.
