The Language Performance Of Referent Of Noun

The referent of noun is a hot problem in glossology at persent. However, they usually involve it while discussing the other problem,and rare discuss it exelusively. Based on the existing research,this thesis further investigates the referent of noun. The main contents are as follows.Charpter 1: The Referent of Noun Phenomenon Researeh Overview. We proposed the existing debate about the inadequacies of referent. The theoretical framework of this paper are cognitive and functionalism,clausalpivot.Charpter 2: From the language function, cognitive and linguistic environment three aspects to delimit the referent of noun. We based on the definition to divide the referent of noun into referential and nonreferential. According to the performance of different languages,we divide referential to identifiable and non-identifiable.Charpter 3: The referential to the syntactic structure. First, summary of differences between English and chinese in referent. Second, the syntax positions and the definite and indefinite of nominal components. Last, some special sentences and the definite and indefinite of nominal components.Charpter4: Non-identifiable to the syntactic structure. Comparison to referential, and fixed by means of syntactic structure, summed up the effect on the syntactic structure.Charpter 5: Discusses the language performance of irreference. If a nominal composition expresses the existing way, it is called irreference. Irreference only gives prominence to its semantic features,it always acts as attribute,predicate,adverbial adjunct and complement. Nominal composition can get its irreferring function through stressing its semantic features: some words emphasize its intension features, some words emphasize its extension features and others emphasize both features. When semantic features are manifested,nominal composition will no longer refer to an entity and it naturally gets a quite strong predicat enature. It appears at some specific syntactic position and gets the predicating function.Charpter 6: The empty-referential to the syntactic structure. If a nominal composition expresses its intension meaning,and together with other words carries out the predicating function,it is called empty-reference. Empty一reference is mainly distributed over predieative position,the object position of compound verb一object combination,head places of Para一modification and the object position after the speech word. Appellative nouns can also act as the empty一reference sitting in the subject position.Charpter 7: To summarize the language performance of referent.
