The Bible is without doubt the most influential book in the history of mankind and the Song of Songs is a splendid flower of biblical poetry. Through its values, emotional and aesthetic taste, the Song of Songs provides rich heterogeneous resources to the language, artistic styles and so on in modern Chinese literature. In view of the great theoretical and practical significance of the Song of Songs in the Bible which have a great value to study the Chinese versions and the influence from it in Chinese modern literature. This paper intends to select the representative four versions of the Song of Songs as research objects, under the principle of influence research and close reading aspects to discuss it. Takes the transmission and reception of the Song of Songs as perspective and makes the receptional aesthetic as theoretical basis, systematically combing and discussing the dissemination reason of the Song of Songs in China, the causes and significance of variations in the Chinese translation, the diversity and complexity impacts on the modern Chinese literature, to explore the interaction between Chinese modern literature and the Biblical literature and increase the awareness and understanding of the special value of the Biblical Literature.The paper consists of three chapters: the preface, the text and the conclusion.The preface gives an overview at the home and abroad achievements to the research, gives the purpose, the theoretical reference and the research method in this paper.The paper contains three chapters.The first chapter discusses the special position, the controversial author and writing style, the interpretation of the important images about the Song of Songs. Analyses the causes that make the Song of Songs spread in Chinese modern literature. Then points out that the dissemination of the Song of Songs is closely relate to the magic power of the text and the translation background in China.The second chapter gives a brief introduction of the four Chinese translation versions of the Song of Songs which translated by Xu Dishan(许地山),Wu Shutian(吴曙天)and Chen Mengjia(陈梦家) to discuss the creative treason of translation in terms of translation practice,makes the conclusion that the Chinese translation style moves from religion to literature and secular tendency, at last to carry on a prospect of Chinese translation about the Song of Songs.The third chapter from the aspects of language transplantation, form infiltration and spiritual coincidence to analyze the great impact on Chinese modern literature from the Song of Songs.The conclusion summarizes the translation, dissemination and acceptation of the Song of Songs in modern China. Overall evaluates its significance and influence for Chinese modern literature.
