A Research On The Logical Ideas Of Huai Nan Zi

As a great book in the Western Han Dynasty, "Huai Nan Zi" is a collection and integration of the earlier culture and thinking. Earlier researchers on"Huai Nan Zi" always focused on its Taoism when they studied its ideological system. "Huai Nan Zi" is famous for its excellent arguments about the ideas of Taoist School, but it also has plenty of "TuiLei"(inference about class), such as the grasping of the relationship between name and reality, the application and further thinking about the idea of reasoning, and all these thoughts need to be further explored. This study will try to interpret "Huai Nan Zi "from the perspective of logics, systemically analyze the rich logical ideas showed in it. By comparative analyzing with ideas of thinkers in pre-Qin era, this study will show the special logical ideas in "Huai Nan Zi'The logic thoughts of HuaiNanZi contain three aspects. First, the thoughts about debate which exhibit deep dialectic idea and tell people that its truth perception is relative. Second, the thoughts about name and reality in which HuaiNanZi reviews the objective basis of producing name, at the same time it highlight the importance of name and reality in consistence. The ideas about the relation between name and reality of HuaiNanZi go beyond predecessors, which not only stress name or reality merely, but both of them, and have commons with modern name theories. Third, the thoughts about TuiLei which show so many methods, and it is more important that HuaiNanZi develop Tuilei is not necessary". To study thought treasures of ancients is not only to recognize it but also to draw on it. The logic thought of"HuaiNanZi" focus on TuiLei, thus, it should not neglect compare Tuilei with other thinker or school. Comparing and analyzing are distinguishing feature in this paper, which also is innovation on the base of predecessors.
