Construction of modern nation-state in China has always been the focus of social science researches. In this paper, I want to analyze how women's consumption is built into nationalism consuption,with Discourse Construction and Discourse Analysis Theory, from the perspective of correlation between Consumerism and nationalism. Specifically, the main problems are as follows:comparing with men, why women is more likely to be constructed? Why do women's consumption can be constructed? What is the process of this constuction? What is the essence of this kind of building? In this process, how do consumerism and nationalism influence each other?This paper is composed of eight different chapters. The first chapter is introduction, including six parts:the origin and reason of this research; the significance of this study; the literature review concerning this subject; thories using in this paper; core concepets and research methods. The seconed chapter introduces the research object——"Chinese products weekly of shenbao"', including the background of foundation, the main audience, the main contents and characteristics. The third chapter is the description of the content analysis of "Chinese products weekly of shenbao", mainly about the results of the quantitative content analysis. Chapter four to chapter six are key parts of this study. The fourth chapter is to ansewr why women's consuption need to be built comparing with men's. The fifth chapter analyzes the specific process of this building; it construts nationlism consuption from three parts: personal consuption, household consuption and consuption of social interaction. Given the importence of modern girls'consuption, in sixth chapter I want to discuss how modern girls'consuption is to be built. Chaper seven is about the essence of this kind of construction:secularization of patriotism and putting women personal avtivities into public. The last chapter is about conclusions and reflections. Firstly, it gives the summary of this study. Then it discusses the relationship between nationlism and consumerism:they both contact and conflict and confliction is main point.
