| This thesis studies the relation between human free will and moral responsibility in the late medieval philosopher William of Ockham`s divine command theory. This thesis will examine the contradiction between divine will and human free will in his thery. And I will compare his view with those of the other scholors who support his theory and who attempt to amend his divine command theory in the 20th century in order to question the possibility of one kind of secular morality replacing divine command theory .At last, I will make my own point and interpretation on his divine command theory and I want to research why Ockham holds that the moral responsibility depends on divine will and whether there exist any ontological causes behind Ockham`s divine command theroy or not. |
