Research Of The Lyric Of Lanzhou Guzi

Lanzhou guzi was a form of folk performing art which is prevalent in Lanzhou city and its surrounding area in the end of 19th century. It holds a very long history. However, with the development of society, Lanzhou guzi was fading away from our horizon, getting to an unpleasant status. Nowadays, with the appeal of protecting intangible cultural heritage, it starts to refresh from predicament. The research of Lanzhou guzi was started from last centaury. But until now there are still many problems which are not solved. This thesis tries to find out the developing context of Lanzhou guzi through lyric analysis, which will help us to clear its status and to know how to protect it.The thesis contains three chapters. The first chapter shows the present condition and definition of Lanzhou guzi, aiming at summarize its various origins. Lyric analysis and classification are included in the second chapter. In the third chapter, the author introduces the heritage of Lanzhou guzi through comparing with other forms of Chinese traditional operas.The thesis tries to dig out the developing characteristic of Lanzhou guzi through analysis of its origin, historical context and existing environment, and to provide practical suggestions for its development.
