Along with the publication of Emotional Intelligence, written by Goleman, the field of psychology pays more attention to Emotional Intelligence. Meanwhile, the promotion of Emotional Literacy Education has been becoming mature in foreign educational system. On the other hand, the related research is not enough at home. So, on the basis of attending the training curriculum of emotional literacy, researcher went over the achievements of emotional intelligence and literacy, devised a emotional literacy training program and Expression Test in order to discuss the effect of emotional literacy curriculum on emotional literacy of the third grade primary school pupil and find out the new way to assess emotional literacy.The pretest-posttest experimental group-control group design was used in this study. The sample consisted of 117 third graders from Shenxin Primary School in Shanghai. There are four classes. Among these, two are experimental group (each 29 students), the others are control group (one 29, the other 30). Each class of experimental group received 8 weeks Emotional Literacy Curriculum (a 40 minutes session per week). The control group didn't receive treatment until the study was frnished.Instruments used in this study named "Pupil Emotional Intelligence Scale" and self-designed "Expression Test", was used to measure students' emotional literacy and was administered before the experiment, in a week after the experiment. In addition, data from feedback sheets, researcher's teaching reflection and students' emotional diary and head teacher interview were also analyzed.The main findings were as follows:1 .The research shows that there is obvious variance in Emotional Literacy between genders.2. Different squads have the obvious variance in "Pupil Emotional Scale" through Means T test3. Self-devised Expression Test is not mature in assessing the emotional literacy of pupils.4. Most pupils want to have emotional literacy lessons again.5. The ei}'ective causes of the emotional literacy curriculum include: rationality and pertinence of curriculum; emphasizing emotional awareness and expression and empathy of pupil; combining the group and individual counseling; flexible adjustment of the curriculum, and all that.
