Objectives: To know the prevalence and characteristic of anxiety symptoms, compulsion symptoms and depressive symptoms among the senior high school students in the city of Hefei. And to study the associated factors of depression-anxiety-compulsion symptom including Attributional Style, life events, social support and the orientations to happiness among senior high school students in Hefei in order to provide evidence for prevention and intervention among adolescents.Methods: A total of 5151 students who came from a senior high school in the city of Hefei will be coeelcted to conduct this survey focusing on the assessment on the students'mental health. The students will be asked to answer the Center for Epidemiological Survey Depression Scale(CES-D), Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), and Maudsley Obsessive Compulsive Inventory( MOCI). 1:2 case-control study was conducted among 180 students from the same grade: this include 60 students who were tested with all the three symptoms, and 120 students without any of the three symptoms. In addition, Children's Attributional Style Questionnaire (CASQ), Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List (ASLEC), Social Support Scale the Orientations to Happiness Questionnaire(OHQ) and questionnaires made by author will be conducted among these high school students to find out.Results: The prevalence of mental health problem was 33.9%(1729/5103) among senior high school students in Hefei, and the prevalence of depression, anxiety and compulsion were 27.1%, 7.7% and 10.5% respectively, while anxiety with depression was 6.3%, compulsion with anxiety 4.7%, the prevalence of all three symptoms coexisting was 1.6%, and all three symptoms coexisting 2.0%. With respect of gender, more girls show the symptoms of depression, anxiety and compulsion than boys do, which has statistical meaning on differences. Considering the school records, the low-ranking students more easily have the three symptoms. When comparing by grades, there are more students having depression and anxiety in Senor Grade 3, the differences in between have statistical meanings in comparison with Grade 2&1. Besides, the students whose parents'education level is under primary school, are more likely to be influenced by depression than those whose parents have senior school educational level or above. But for those who have university educational level, their children are more probably afflicted by compulsion compared with the ones with an educational level of senior school and below. All the differences have statistical meanings. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis according to 1:2 case-control study revealed that poor academic record, lower score of PmB and PvB, higher score of life events, lower score of social support, less investment for meaningful life and more investment for pursuing of victory life were risk factors of depression-anxiety-compulsion symptom among senior high school students.Conclusions: Mental health problems were common among high school students, and when applying mental health education, we should take existing mental health character into consideration. In addition, negative life events may lead to depression-anxiety-compulsion symptom among the teenagers, while optimism attributional style trained and social support improved might reduce the incidence of mental health problems among senior high school students.
