| Great contribution has been provided to the development and heritage of traditional Chinese culture by Chinese allusions, which has a long history to increase lasting appeal and interest by displaying lots of contents in terms of limited words. Most current researches on Chinese allusions are based on the perspective of cultural, but a few on the perspective of language, rare on the systemizing sources, the changes of forms or meanings of allusions. The He plays an important role in traditional Chinese culture. Nowadays, many phrases which include the culture of He are still used usually in the daily life of Chinese people, and most of these phrases are the allusions composed of the word He. Therefore, in this paper, the allusions of He have been researched from the perspective of cultural, in which the combined methods of synchronic descriptions, diachronic comparisons, statistics and analyses have been used. The change evolutions of forms and meanings of the allusions composed of the word He have been spelt out by lots of detailed examples, which are taken along the clue of dynasties and chosen from the Retrieval System of Chinese Classics.Seeing from the sources, the whole allusion history is full of allusions of He, not only in forms but also in meanings. And if these allusions comes from a older age, contains more story elements, or be used more frequent in modern lives, there will be more forms in using them. Allusions are usually created with strong subjectivity to write or express the user's emotions, but don't perfectly meet the Chinese word-formation.From the evolution point of view, The change evolutions of the allusions composed of the word He are mainly reflected in forms and meanings. There are more changes in forms, and a typical method is changing the word orders to make new typical shapes, such as, He Guang Tong Cheng being replaced by Tong Cheng He Guang. And another method is changing the morphemes by some similar or related ones, such as, Xi He Bian Ri being changed into Xi He Yu Ri. Even some typical shapes can be changed into different ones by adding an auxiliary word Zhi, such as, Gua He Qu can be changed to Gua He Zhi Qu in the later history. The meanings of the allusions composed of the word He mainly change in four situations. Firstly, the meanings of the allusions changed with some additional words added. Secondly, the meanings of the allusions change along their emotions, for an example, Qu Gao He Gua is a neutral term at the beginning, but it tend to derogatory sense at present. Thirdly, the meanings of the allusions expand to other objects, such as that Ling He Liu was used to admire willows in the past but to admire men at present. Fourthly, the allusions are changed into some new meanings which are independent to their sources, and let's take He Ding Shi. and He Shang Ding for examples, these two allusions are used to admire plum blossoms, but there is no association between them and their source allusion of Tiao He Ding Nai. |
