As a typical representative of the"demeanor of Wei and Jin", people have always regarded RuanJi's behaviours of "ren dan" as celebrities' natural performance. In fact, RuanJi's behaviours of "ren dan" also have deep meaning. The article based on the records about Ruan Ji in Shi Shuo Xin Yu. There are three latitudes in the research of Ruan Ji'celebrity images. First, look from his official experiences, Ruan Ji kept CaoWei group from a distance at first, And he was official in Sima group was also active behaviour choice. Disenchanted or be a official, all came from his keen political insight and wisdoms in political high-pressures and historical trends. And its meaning nothing more than protecting life. Second, look from the the contradictions between ruanji's words and deeds, he enterd politics but at the same time advocated freedancer; he had"supercilious look"when faced false man, but at the same time peaced with them; he destroyed decorums but at the same time exalted Confucian morality. His behavior of"rendan"was controled within the acceptable scope of Sima, and it was symbolic significance for"doing"rather than real"capricious"and freedom. And so the critical power became weak because of relying on political. Or even insignificant. This is a part of the root of Ruan Ji's soul pain. Third, from his poems of lyrics, there were contradictions and pains in Ruan Ji's inner world. Whether the Confucian ideal or Taoist ideal he could not achieve. The behaviour of"rendan"was just the way which he kept the distance with Sima group. It was a safe way that he sustained the balance of his inner world. The behaviors of"rendan"just were a way that Ruan Ji kept balance between his inner world and cruel reality when he lose all hope of life. And Ruan Ji was only a literati who lose himself in complicated social life.
