Roosevelt's New Deal had a great significance in American history. The New Deal had transformed U. S. economy from laissez-faire to the industrial society under the government supervision, corrected the ills which generated from the laissez-faire era, ensured that the U. S. society maintains stabilize and prosperity. This paper considered New Deal as a major reform from American modernization process, aiming to reveal the historical influence and experience of the New Deal.Chapter I, Author summarized the U. S. industrialization process from the founding of America to the early 20th century, revealed the shortcomings of the old pattern, introduced the 20th 30s economic crisis in United States.Chapter II and Chapter III, Enumerating federal government's adjustments in industry, agriculture, finance, transportation, communications and other fields during the New Deal. The federal government changed the past laissez-faire attitude, became a comprehensive intervention in the economy through a series policy.Chapter IV, Analyzed the methods changing of government economic management from the policy angle. The federal government improved economic legislation and institutions, implemented macroeconomic policy.Chapter V, Analyzed the influence of New Deal from welfare angle. The government established the welfare system by formulating relief measures and welfare legislations in order to create a modern welfare state.Chapter VI, Analyzed the influence of New Deal from the affluent society angle. after the New Deal, the U.S. economy has been recovered and developed, labor relations has been adjusted, life quality, living conditions and the environment has been improved, the new middle class has grow, affluent society structures has been established.Besides the government's anti-crisis measures, New Deal has began a comprehensive intervention within the economy field, has began to implement comprehensive macro-control policy, has established a modern welfare state, has created a new situation in the modern affluent society. New Deal established the New Deal-style state monopoly capitalism, has created a new model of social development, and has established a new pattern of American modernization process.
