20th century European music in the new century, a variety of new ideas and new techniques appeared: Expressionism, the new primitivism, neo-classical and differential sound doctrine and so on. People were tired of the traditional tune style, temperament, harmony, rhythm or musical instrument. The Impressionist style was between Romanticism in the 19th century and modern music in the 20th century, which is a very important transitional phase. In this paper, a representative Impressionist Debussy's "Prelude 24 Piano" as the starting point for his harmony and tonal characteristics of modal analysis. Pairs of Debussy's music has been more comprehensive and deeper understanding of and thus out of Impressionist music, summarized the main features of language, this study analyzes characteristics important significance of this period of music in contemporary music fields.
