The Investigation And Study Of Basic Characteristics Of Diet Words On The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary (the Fifth Edition)

In the modern chinese vocabulary system,diet words is a collection of distinctive.Thanks to the contemporary chinese dictionary (the fifth edition) could reflect the basic situation of modern chinese vocabulary in China at present approximatelly,so it will have very high value as the language database to extract the diet words.Through the analysis,we sum up 930 diet words,and summarize the characteristics and the law of diet words by studying their names.From the phonetic form,diet words with two-syllable words in the majority.Three-syllable and monosyllabic are less then two-syllable,and four-syllable is minimum.From the word meaning structure,the univocal takes up the most in the diet words,and it is triple then the polysemous word.But in the polysemous words,the number of the double righteous word takes up absolute advantage.From the word-formation form,compound words take up the leading role.Among the compound words, partial formal words is the maximum in the composite-compound words,and in the additional–compound,the stem-affix words is the most.In the single morpheme words,the unbroken words is 54% and the monosyllabic word is 33%.The translisteration words take second place and the reduplicated words is at least.In addition,we summarize the paraphrasing mode and point out the problem in it of the diet words on the contemporary chinese dictionary (the fifth edition).And we analysis the diet words from words creation and words formation.Finally,we conclude the naming motivation according,the named principle and the cultural connotation.So that,it makes people have a roughly understanding on the basic feature and characteristic of the diet words.
