Comparative Research On Play "Romance Of Three Kingdoms" And "Three Kingdoms"

Chinese classic "Romance of Three Kingdoms" is a wonderful novel in Chinese thousand years; TV people in the different times love it. The novel has adapted several times, each director has recreated and interpreted with different styles of television language. A comparative study of the "Romance of Three Kingdoms" (1994)and "Three Kingdoms"( 2010 )focuses on the creation background , text generation and narrative strategies.The play of 84 sets "Romance of Three Kingdoms" was directed by Wang-Fulin ,it was faithful to the original, the history had perfect reconstructed. The director found an appropriate "degree" between "faithful" and "creation".Adapter conveyed the visual essence of Luo-Guanzhong about political and military struggle nearly 100 years. This play has become a "TV myth", precious cultural treasures. If change the departure from text meaning, Famous work will become creative. TV production center in Communication University of China shot the 95 sets of "Three Kingdoms" ,a groundbreaking adaptation with the art elements and the "postmodernism" deconstruction and subversion. Broadcast "flowers" and "tile" is particularly serious,"Faithful to the original" principle has been challenged.Which one is better? The analysis of this paper get a glimpse. This paper is by three chapters, the first chapter reviews the background of two plays, analyses the operating mechanism, broadcast system, audience appreciation in ten years. The second chapter discusses the formation and recognition. Each adaptor has his own way to show, and the audiences have different recognition and selection. The last chapter comparative analysis the narrative strategies , such as narrative structure, characterization, story,footage,sound effects and other aspects. I further descript narrative strategies on two plays which will have famous novel strategy and direction.These two plays enrich and complement the text of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". In this paper, I use the basic principles of TV, sociology, aesthetics, psychology and many principles, rational think the similarities and differences of these plays, study phenomena and principles of adaptation, analyses the audience acceptance. Boom in the novel adaptation, we need have an optimistic view to explore the TV history, analysis the direction for a long view, think further explore of the realistic way. A daptation is a long way, everyone can do more.
