| CET Band IV has contributed a lot to College English Education in China since it came into being in 1987. And it plays a very important role in Chinese higher education. But with the change of situation, its too much attention to convenience has caused many problems. What are these problems and what are the reasons for these? In this thesis, by turning to theories of Second Language Acquisition, linguistics, and teaching approach, the author of this thesis has looked into CET Band IV, its theoretical bases, to check its construct validity. And by looking into its specific process of writing, the author of this thesis also has checked its content validity. A conclusion is drawn about its usefulness from these two angles, suggestions are made to improve it. |
