M.A.Graduate, Chinese Major of GuangXi Normal University: Xu Zhen Tutor: Pro.Lao Cheng-wanCompared with the sin of the Western world and the hardship of Buddhism, the supplement of suffering and sanguineness is one of the humane characteristics of Chinese traditional culture. To explore the value of Chinese conventional culture, it is indispensable to search the spirit of suffering and sanguineness and to distinguish the Chinese and Western civilization.Chinese character le/yue , which has dual meaning of music and sanguineness, is born out of the ancient sorcery rites and totemic singing and dancing. The paper makes a substantial analysis on the background of the agriculture society and the classic sorcery history to recur the importance of music in China and to find the relation of music and sanguineness. We can realize that le/yue is not only the represent of archaic Chinese wise, which pays attention to the conciliation of Cosmic and Human and how to settle down and get on with one's pursuit, but also the symbol of self-conscious personality and persisting in this life.Confucius refers rites and music to Humanity, beginning with which le/yue is emphasized on its construction to the mental and emotional substance and its transcendenty. It is to say that people canbring up a kind of sustaining life emotion and sublime themselves to a spirit realm of carefreeness and serenity. And it is determined by the immanent and transcendent character of Chinese traditional culture. So in my opinion, the supplement of suffering and sangiiineness is the embodiment of Chinese dialectical thought. Sangiiineness treats real life as a process, which transcends suffering and indicates that living-itself is just Aesthetic. After above discussion the paper then draws a conclusion that Aesthetic is the last end-result of Chinese classic philosophy.
