Baiwei And Yangsao: Comparative Study Of Sexual Distinction In Drama

In the world of letters between 1920s and 1930s, Baiwei and Yangsao was a distinctive couple of dramatists, whose creative style for drama was provided with the obvious tendency of sexual distinction. Comparing and analyzing the dramas of these two dramatists in terms of sexual distinction, similarities and differences of their individuality of creation and writing style can be studied more comprehensively and deeply. In addition, it will bring comparative study into the drama to expand the field and models of the drama study. This thesis is set in the context with special history and culture during 20s to 30s. Using the theory and methods of sexual psychology ,feministic criticism and drama in terms of sexual distinction, it is to compare and analyze the gender differences of art in aesthetic connotation, character delineation and drama form, which probes into different sexual awareness, life experience, mental features of the two dramatists and all these cause positive and negative effects on aesthetic representation. Summing up artistic experience will also help push the artistic creation into human being capitalized, which is of historical significance and useful reference for women writing today.
