The essay is based upon the study of precursors about context problems,reviews and discusses a series of questions about the definition, classification,constitution of context and its important function in speech communication. In discussion,according to Saussure' s comments and classifications on language linguistics and speech linguistics,the essay summarizes its own standpoints :In speech communication context is knowledge proposition of both communicators which speaking - writing aspect expressing his real intention in specific environment, so as to hearing-reading aspect accurately comprehending what the utterance object delivering.Therefore the essay concludes context is composed of language context and speech context.In general,language context is semantic context(the words of spoken language; verbal context of written language) ; speech context is pragmatic context,it includes core pragmatic context factors and cognitive pragmatic context factors.Core pragmatic context factors:time, occasion, condition, object, target and topic; cognitive context factors:background information and pragmatic premise; (social cultural tradition,national custom, psychology)etc.encyclical knowledge; auxiliary language elements and associated discourse context.Context and its constitution factors are network system which static and dynamic combined.In addition,the essay combines a great number of examples to analyse and define the important value of context and its constitution factors:definiting communicators real intention - implication (overloading information)which Speaking - writing aspect feedbacks the information by means of context; hearing-reading aspect correctly receives by means of context too,thus achieving best communication effct, it also shows context is indispensable in all process of communication.
