This research tends to explore the relationships of personality to job performance. Those samples chosen for this test are headmasters of the middle school due to their leading role in school and their performance immediate relevant to the development of the school and quality of cultivation of students. By studying relationships of personality of headmasters to their job performance ,it provides a testing proof of personality for scientific selection of headmasters of the middle school .And simultaneously with the performance scale to make certain the standards of their performance offering a basis for the assessment of their performance .Through the job analysis tested by its reliability and validity ,we get the performance appraisal scale of headmasters; and through the test of personality ,correlation analysis and regression analysis ,we have a preliminary result of the relationships of personality of headmasters to their job performance .They go as follows:1.For headmasters, personality can be the antecedent of task performance and contextual performance. However, the predicative validity for task performance is very low.2.Conscientiousness has cross-cultural and cross-professional predicable functions to job performance3.Conscientiousness and Agreeableness, among the personalities of headmasters , have certain predicable functions to job performance ,and their correlation coefficients are 0.124 and 0.198. Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability and Agreeableness have certain predicative functions to the task performance , and their correlation coefficients are 0.212,0.195 and 0.186. Conscientiousness and Innovation have certain predicative functions to job dedication , and their correlation coefficients are 0.191 and 0.189. Agreeableness, Emotional Stability, Innovation and Determination have certain predicative functions to interpersonal facilitation , and their correlation coefficients are 0.199,0.185,0.183 and 0.178.
