Objective: To examine the correlation between children's self-concept and the evaluation by significant others.Methods: The Piers-Harris Children's Self-concept Scale (PHCSS) was used as an original questionnaire and was revised. Samples of 400 children from 3 to 6 grade at an average age of 8 to 13, and 400 parents, 8 teachers and 400 peers were tested.Results: 1.There were significant difference among grades on children's evaluation on behavior, intelligence and school, body, gregariousness and satisfaction except anxiety. 2. Female children got higher evaluation than male children, including self-evaluation and the evaluation by significant others. 3. There were significant correlation between children's self-evaluation and the evaluation by parents on all the aspects. 4. There were significant correlation between children's self-evaluation and the evaluation by teachers on intelligence and school, behavior, gregariousness. 5. There were significant correlation between children's self-evaluation and the evaluation by peers on behavior, intelligence and school, body.
