The Textual Research Of Tao Yuanming's Friends And Contacts

The study of the chronicle of Tao Yuanming life has been absorbed as the major means on the studies of Tao Yuanming'friends and contacts since South Song Dynasty .Until the modern time, professor Zhu Guangqian has began to take on the monographic study .Since that ,the professors such as Wei Zhengshen, Gong Bin and Wang dingzhang had extensive studies. On the perspective of friends and contacts, they studied something about Yuanming'friends and his soul thoughts on the whole. This thesis is developed from the fruits of them, and summarized in deep extent, or put forward some new ideas .The whole thesis includes seven parts.I Yuanming and his close friends Xunzhi and Yinzhi and the "Ways of Composing Poem". During this part ,firstly introduces the simple acceptance history of the "Ways of Composing Poem" and affirms sufficiently that Yuanming is the real author of the poem .Secondly, surveying and determining the time of the poem ,and analyzing the thoughts of the poem. According to the poems of "A Complaint "and "A Message " ,and their relations which come down in one continuous line with the "Ways of Composing Poem" in the soul thoughts and main contents, the thesis makes a key study on people who had taken part in composing the poems .By contrast with the extent their relationships and their own life stories, drawing a conclusion that the poet of Xunzhi is called Pang Xunzhi or Pang Zun, the poet of Yinzhi is called Yang Yinzhi or Yang Songling and suspects that Zhang Ye is also one of the poets .II Yuanming and his close friend Zhang Ye. On the base of the scholar Tao Shu ,the thesis makes a conclusion that the poet of "the Year Is Drawing to An End "is Zhang Ye. Combining with the poem of "A Complaint" and "A Message "which were all written in the same period. And further explicates that Zhang Ye is probably the poet of the "Ways of Composing Poem "according to the original relations between the poem "the Year Is Drawing to An End" and the "Ways of Composing Poem" .As Yuanming's fellow villager, Zhang Ye probably had a trip to the River Slant and the Zhous Graves together with Yuanming.III Yuanming and his closed friend Chai Sang Official Liu and Buddist priest Hui Yuan. After migrating to the South Village, Yuanming wrote two poems "My Cot in the West" and "Autumn Again" to depict their contacts. During these poems, revealing their true feelings and natural disposition of the two poor men and theirunfortunately situations when they slicked to their homelands of soul. However, their noble characters and personalities were eulogized everywhere and everytime. The story of "Laugh Near the River" becomes the most popular story among the stories about Yuanming and the Buddist priest Hui Yuan .This story has began in Liang Dynasty and hasn't taken its final shape until North Song Dynasty ,which is a variable course .Today, however ,we shouldn't take seriously about these stories true or not, but grasp those spiritual symbols instead.IV Yuanming and the younger generation Official Yin and Pang. Four different opinions has been shaped about "who is official Yin" until today .In the thesis, contrasting and analyzing all the opinions, we conclude that the old opinion which had been pointed out since the South Song Dynasty is still take prior over in credibility, and the other opinions aren't sensible enough to overwhelm it. Yin was Yuanming's new friend after he migrated to South Village, but they felt like old friends at the first meeting. Pang was the only friend of Yuanming in the last eight years of his life during the Song Dynasty. During this period, the amounts of Yuanming's friends and contacts decreased apparently than ever before, so he was very pleased with the visiting of Pang, and wrote two poems spontaneously ,which was the sole poems in that eight years.V Yuanming and the Officials Yan Yanzhi and Tan Daoji .The contact with Yan Yanzhi was recorded twice in the history books only.
