| The view on education based on emotion was proposed by Feng Menglong, a writer in the late Ming Dynasty, in his preface of a collection of short stories ?"History of Love Stories". As a method of saving public morals, this view was of social characters in the late Ming Dynasty as well as the traditional moral and culture. Therefore, the analysis and study on it is helpful not only to study Feng Menglong's ideas and products but also to understand the Chinese traditional moral and culture. In addition, from the angel of solving the social problems, Feng Menglong' s view on education based on emotion prospects characters of the Chinese traditional moral and culture,the analysis of Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion can be helpful to our current moral reconstruction reasonably. Because of these ,1 am going to make some analysis of Feng Mengong' s view on education based on emotion and the influence it has to creation of "History of Love Stories".This thesis is formed of following several parts mainly:In Chapter One, I make a contextual analysis on Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion. In the late Ming Dynasty, the reasons why Feng Menglong proposed the view lied in three situations: one was "heretical beliefs" of "No emotion"; the next was the Confucian school of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming Dynasties, in which "emotion" was conducted by the rules of "reason"; the last was desire of the ancient customs and try to find a situation with caring with the humanity to save the public morals. Feng Menglong didn't agree with the first two opinions. He believed only education based on emotion could save the corrupting social values.In Chapter Two, I analyze the theoretical background of Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion. In the late Ming Dynasty, Feng Menglong chose the method based on his three theories of knowledge: one was his world outlook of monism focused on emotion; the next was his view of "emotion" and "reason", in which " reason " was based on " emotion " ; the last was his cultural cognition of LiuJing are all based on emotion".In Chapter Three, I analyze the value of "emotion" in Feng Menglong's view on education. The emotion, promoted by Feng Menglong, based on individual psychological emotion and was a kind of ethical spirit. The spirit carried on and developed the ethical ideas of Mencius from the angle of Chinese cultural history.In Chapter Four, I study the method of realization of Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion. Feng Menglong transmitted this view in his preface of a collection of short stories - "History of Love Stories" in order to realize the view by stating the works respectively in the "History of Love Stories". The reason lay in his carrying on the traditions of educating by poetries.In Chapter Five, I evaluate Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion. First, Feng Menglong emphasized "emotion" in his view on education influenced by philosophic idea - "Emotion is center" in late Ming Dynasty. Therefore his view was of distinct character of the time. Second, the purpose of Feng Menglong's emphasizing emotion was not only to release natural desires of human beings but to find a new theoretical background for "Loyalty, Filiality, Morality and Justice" of Confucianism. Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion symbolized the relationship between "reason" and "emotion" from opposing to merging. Third, Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion showed some characteristics of Chinese ethical culture. The study on the characteristics can be helpful to our current moral reconstruction reasonably. Last, we should realize the limitations of Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion in order to instruct our future work effectively.In Chapter Six, I analyze the influence of Feng Menglong's view on education based on emotion on the work - "History of Love Stories".
