The romances about gifted males and beautiful females written in the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty are regarded as a bridge between JinPinMei and A Dream of the Red Mansion by the academic circles in China, and they are very important in the history of novel. The romances take on a narrative model of "falling in love at first sight —— making troubles of the vile characters —— reunion after passing the KeJuTest (an ancient testing system in china)."The appearance of the narrative model has a close connection with the traditional culture and ideology, it also has a close connection with the special history period from Ming to Qing. In the same cultural background and epoch, the authors of the romances whose fate, thought and feelings are alike have the same creative psychology and the same views about writing that strongly affect the appearance of the model. In the paper, the author tries to make a cultural explanation about the narrative model of the romances on the bases of others' academic achievements, dealing with the model of "falling in love at first sight" from three facets of the social psychology of admiring the gift for poem, the confiding of humanity repressed by Confucian in ancient China and the personality-liberated ideological trend in the period from Ming to Qing, the model of "making trouble of the vile characters" from two facets of the conviction of social life that the people reveal their true feelings in trouble and the creative principle that the authors seek marvelous plot in their novels and the model of "reunion after passing the KeJuTest" from three facets of the moral pursuit of striking the bad and advocating the good, the KeJuSystem and the authors' psychology of "seeking compensation.
