The Fuzziness Analysis Of Intimate Address In Linguistic Communication

The phenomenon of fuzziness exists objectively and widely in all aspects of human life. Hence, in human languages, there are a great number of words which express the concepts that have not definite boundaries, namely "fuzzy concepts". Although there is a long history that people pay close attention to fuzziness, the special research about fuzzy language just began twenty or thirty years ago. Fuzzy linguistics, as a new discipline, is just a discipline that studies semantics at the beginning and belongs to a branch of semantics ("Quantitative Fuzzy Semantics" as Zadeh put it). Its basic theory is "fuzzy sets" which was pointed out by L.A. Zadeh in 1965. Although there is a large quantity and frequent use of fuzzy words in verbal communication, the study of fuzzy language in linguistic communication is a relatively ignored area.As we all know, in theoretical linguistics research, Chomsky tries to make his TG grammer mechanical and constitutional, trying to cover all the language phenomena. Another gramarian , Montague argues language research is an branch of maths, his MG is highly predictable and rigid . The natural language has been tried to be regarded as formal language by him.Whatever the different nature they argued about language. The fuzzy nature of natural languages have been paid enoughattention since the Fuzzy Maths theory was put forward by Zadehin 1965.In linguistics, a huge new research space has been and would be further explored in traditional research fields accordingly, such as: Symbolic semantics, linguistic metaphor, communicative strategy, etc. And on the other hand, the different branches of linguistics often borrowed theoretical devices from higher subject, as maths, logic, statistics, probability theory and set theory, etc.As for intimate address in the current research paper, it occupies several fields in linguistics: sociolinguistics, cross-cultural communication, psycholinguistics, cognitive linguistics. Here, we take the sociolinguistics way to treat this phenomena, the connotation of intimate address would be defined statistically by a chart, in the chart, the probability value is symbolized as u, the one tailed normal curve reflects the distribution of the probability value, which indicates to what extent the different forms of address are differentiated and used by the groups of speakers.Because the sampling is not large enough to get the exact attachment function, we have to narrow it down on a certain probability level.This investigation involves three parts. Briefly, some introduction of where the investigation begins is presented in the first part and what methods used as the second before the final quantitative report, the third parts.1. As an empirical research, the main research methods include principles and devices used in field work.2. The investigation methods to make the data systematical and analysable : subject chosen, sampling, quantitative data collection (questionaire and interview) and control group, etc.3. Quantitative data analysis and some logical conclusions.Statistic assortment of the data collected.Comparison analysis based on the difference between controlgroup and other groups.Statistical analysis to carry on the correlation research betweenthe data collected and speakers group of the subject beinginvestigated.
