Many historians gradually pay attention to west priests because of its special role in sino-foreign culture communications. People emphasize the effect of religion and culture and knowledge, However, they neglecte that the priest had play an important role in law. This article discusse law from the west to China. From the Opium War, the priests of the new religion adopted many ways and recommended western laws, including the international law and criminal law and civil law, etc. These offered the experience for the law reform in the Qing Dynasty and promoted the turn of the law in modern China. The western priests bridged the law culture of the west and the east. With the increasing of Chinese translation and the quantity of students studying abroad in the early twenty century, the era that the priests were the leading roles in the western law to china was over.
