As the first Asian who gets the Nobel Prize for literature, Tagore is a monumental man in history of Indian literature who makes profound and lasting influence on modern Indian literature. No matter what is taken into account, the amounts of works, the period of creation, the writing technique or the theme, Tagore's novelettes are unique and important. In all of Tagore's novels, the novelettes are most far away from reality and are closed to Tagore's inner world; they go hand in hand with Tagore's feelings to life and his experience of existence. As the symbolic signs, the women images in Tagore's novelettes reflect his inner world. They are keys to comprehend Tagore's novelettes. The essence of Tagore's inner world is his views on religion. His views on love are the direct incarnations of it, and his views on woman are the products of it, furthermore, it is the essential factor to form the women images. Both of the women images' adversities in Tagore's novelettes and the adversities of Tagore's inner world embodied by the women images tell us that how difficult it is for the old Indian civilization to modernize, and so it will be for the old oriental civilization. This article takes Tagore's novelettes as the studying object, focusing on the women images, makes use of the Feminist Criticism, the Analytical Psychology, the Feminism Theology, to research deeply on Tagore's views on love, on woman and on religion, and try to go inside to Tagore's inner world.
