Wh-question is one of the interrogative forms both in English and Korean. Wh-question refers to a kind of question, which typically expects a reply from an open range of replies, and the required information is presented by wh-words. Although Wh-questions of English and Korean are all used on the same purpose, the two bear big differences in sentence structures. The purpose of this paper is to find out the structural similarities and differences through the contrastive study on English and Korean Wh-questions.Wh-question has been the main subject of the transformational generative grammar. Most of the research on Wh-question is applied the theories from the transformational generative grammar. This paper's research is based on the syntactic structure, and is focused on the explanation of the structural features and syntactic relationship of the wh-question between English and Korean. English Wh-questions follow a series of strict transformational rules, and grammatical relations are presented by word order. However, Korean Wh-questions follow rather simpletransformational rules, and grammatical relations are presented by "to" (词尾) .This paper is divided into four sections: Chapter One is introduction; Chapter Two is general introduction of wh-questions between English and Korean; Chapter Three is Contrastive Research on structures of Wh-questions between English and Korean; Chapter Four is Contrastive Research on semantic relationships of Wh-questions between English and Korean.
