This paper commits itself to the research of the theory and practice of the region culture in interior design. Based on interior design's concept, comparison and thinking between regional culture and interior design, this paper summarizes the research idea and design technique of experienced designer. At same time, this paper illustrates the importance and inevitability of the region culture in interior design according to the author's search during interior design projects.This paper brings forward that the research of interior design must be put in corresponding society environment, region culture and its functional age background. The opposability and unification among interior design and times should be paid attention. Meanwhile, contrasting the characteristics of different design methods, the forms of region culture are various in the different design cases. This paper studies previous design cases and sum-up four typical design methods and analyzes its difference, makes key illumination combining to other design cases.Looking for the cross point of tradition and modern, combining the latest age information with the background of traditional region culture, that's the innovation of interior design. Rooted in the regional culture, interior design can be developed with continual energy absorption and makes better living space and environment.At the same time, this paper discusses how to create an interior environment that's rich of region culture style, utilizes cut-in points of region culture elements with traditional and modern technique.Interior design is the art, which needs long time to research and develop. With the time passes, the emphasis of the interior design is also different, but the development with the region culture is inevitable.
