The study on mental health of undergraduates is popular in education. With the rapid development of higher vocational education, there has beening more and more higher vocational college students among undergraduates. Now, a large amount of students won' t go to higher vocational college and do their best to go to the Undergraduate institutions ; which who have gone to the higher vocational college decided it because of their far low scores. The fact is sure to hold the higher education back and bring it down. The real reason that caused it is the public don' t accept the higher vocational education and have a prejudice against it.Higher vocational students who study in the Undergraduate institutions have much more pressures , more sense of inferiority than which in the higher vocational college. In the campus, they feeled that they were discriminated here and there, they oppressed themselves strongly. They have some specific mental derangement except which of common adolescents, such as hard sense of inferiority, vulnerable mental, depression, tension, too sensitive, more rebellion, be withdrawn and relationship with others lose its balance etc. Nowadays in China, there are too much more studies on mental health of undergraduates, but far less of higher vocational college students, the study makes up for it.Before the study, more preparations had been made, eg to collect the articles , books... stayed with the higher vocational college students and communicated with them in person. Then decided to investigate the mental health of the higher vocational college students by Symptom Checklist 90, the self-Esteem Scale, Qingnian Zhongguo Personality Scale, social support scale, Internality, Powerful Others, and Chance Scale. 334 higher vocational college students were investigated. The data was analyzed by SPSS 10.0 for windows.The conclusions:1. The mental health of higher vocational college students is worse than the undergraduates.2.
