Cesar Franck, founder of "Association of the National Music of France", developedhis own way in the pursuit of music. Taking the form of the classicism, in thelanguage of the romanticism, he expressed his pious religious sentiment and gave ventto his rational self-possession and his intensive internal passion in his music in aharmonious way.His music is a harmony of his rational self-possession and hisintensive internal passion. His late works: "Prelude, Choral and Fuge", "Prelude, Ariaand Finale", and "Variations Symphoniques for Piano and Orchestre", being particularin either their forms or their contents, leading to a resurrection of piano musiccomposing in France out of a stagnancy of nearly 100 years, share constantly aleading position in all the piano music modern and classical.Through the profound reflection and concrete analysis of his unique background ofliving and his piano music works, with a view of the forming of his style and histechniques, this thesis attempts not only to look into his way of inheriting andinnovating in the creation of music, but, to share the authors experiences in playinghis piano works, it also discusses comprehensively the key points in how to playCesar Franck's works.
