This paper focuses on investigating the relationship between language input & output in adult learners' EFL classroom. Based on Krashen's Input Hypothesis and Swain's Output Hypothesis and also China's context for adult learner's ELF, an experimental research was carried out. The statistical instrument t-test was applied to check the result. The experimental result shows that both language input and language output are important and necessary in adult learner's oral production. But at different stage, different stress should be put on different aspect. The findings of this study demonstrate that language input in all aspects has an indirect influence on oral production, esp. for adult learners. It is also found that the effective combination of input and output is more efficient in developing adult learners' oral production than either of them is dominated. At last, it is suggested that adult English learners are a special group of English learning and teaching. They have their own characteristics in learning. Thus, we should take varieties of measures to improve their EFL and ELL in China.
