Since the Luxun's works came out, the world of literature and art paid close attention to it. Furthermore, the study to Luxun made a great achievement in many ways. This thesis is from the view of the work's cautionary connotation to reread it and compare the present works with it. From the point of view of rhetoric, we expound the ways through that Luxun expressed thought and sentiment and achieved the communication with readers. By the way of carefully-reading of the works, we try hard to appreciate the delicate artistic charm in the work's circumstances.With considering the background of contemporary novels in exordium, we can see it is necessary for the rhetoric in novels at present. We expound the theory of novel rhetoric and believe that Luxun's novels are useful for reference at the point of novel rhetoric. For even focusing on the study of text, we can not neglect the relation between authors and actuality. From the view of this relation in the first chapter, with considering Luxun's critique to bad trend in works at his time, we find out Luxun's spirits of facing-up to true-life, because there are close relation between the writing manner of facing up to true-life and spirit. So we focuses on this point from the view of torturing the character's spirit and author's in two sections of first chapter. In the second chapter, from the point of visual angle of narration and adjusting the distance, we probe into the exertion of novel rhetoric in Luxun's works. In the whole thesis, both of the studying from the point of the whole novel rhetoric or from the concret novel rhetoric means are one aim only, it is to show the contemporary novel's defect by contrasting it with Luxun's at the two levels, which is the spirit-profoundity and the intellectual's humanistic critique.
