Cold Food and Tomb-sweeping Festival are two important festivals in season. There are many Tang poems that depict them. On the one hand, there are some differences, on the other hand, there are more relations between Cold Food and Tomb-sweeping Festival. For this reason, the two festivals combine into one in this article and it is defined as " poems on Cold Food and Tomb-sweeping Festival". There are more poems on Cold Food and Tomb-sweeping Festival than poems on the other festival in QUAN TANG SHI. There is an important reason that the ruler in Tang Dynasty pay attention to this festival and work out regulations about it.This article approaches custom, feelings and artistic value from poems on Cold Food and Tomb-sweeping Festival. Chapter 3 shows customs of Cold Food and Tomb-sweeping Festival in Tang Dynasty. Some of these customs are inherited from the old ones, such as ban firing and bestow firing. Some are developed from the old ones, such as sweeping a tomb; Some break through the old ones, such as go for an outing in early spring; Some bring forth new ideals, such as the entertainment gathering for writing poems. So Tang Dynasty can be regarded as an important period in which the old customs of that festival become weaker and weaker. Chapter 4 reveals those poets' feelings. The feelings have two keynotes: one is cool tone, the other is warm tone. Cool tone contains plaintive feelings, desolate feelings, sad feelings and so on. Warm tone contains cheerful feeling, complacent feelings, joyous feelings and so on.. Chapter 5 inquire into some artistic value of poems on Cold Food and Tomb-sweeping Festival., such as homesick theme, swing imagery, contrast.
